Comfort & Size: A step up with a wider seat 36 inches of pitch, footrest and added recline for a more comfortable journey. H
Food & Beverages: Enhanced meals with complimentary beverages.
Entertainment & Amenities: Larger screens and amenities like noise-canceling headphones, seat power outlet and beauty amenity kit.

On the Ground: Exclusive check-in, boarding and complimentary checked luggage.  Complimentary airport lounge access if available.

Connecting Flights:  Connecting flights on narrow-body aircraft will be in first class.

Note: Some air carriers only offer one class of service for business/first class for their long-haul flights (includes lie down beds).

Wide-Body vs. Narrow-Body: Understanding Aircraft Types
Wide-Body Aircraft
Wide-Body Aircraft (Twin-aisle Aircraft and sometimes called Jumbo Jet):

Examples & Purpose: Includes Boeing 777, 787 Dreamliner, Airbus A380, A350 – designed for long-haul flights with dual aisles for superior comfort.
Service & Amenities: More staff for enhanced service, larger galley for premium meals, crew rest areas, and spacious bins.
Configuration Options: Varied layouts like 2-4-2, 3-3-3, 3-4-3, offering ample seat choice and Premium Economy availability.

Our Recommendation:  We prefer the comfort, better food, service, entertainment and more space on wide-body aircraft for all our long-haul flights.

Narrow-Body Aircraft
Narrow-Body Aircraft (single-aisle aircraft) :

Examples & Purpose: Includes Airbus A320 Family and Boeing 737 – excels on short-to-medium hauls with a single aisle layout.
Service & Amenities: Efficient, more compact service dynamics with less bin space and less staffing and meal choices.
Configuration Options: Common layouts include 3-3, 2-3 or 2-2 for shorter commuter flights.

Note: Some Narrow-Body aircraft are now flying to Hawaii and Europe so be aware the aircraft for your flights and choose a wide-body for more comfort on long-haul journeys.

Unpacking Airline Fare Differences: NYC to London Roundtrip

When it comes to booking flights, one thing travelers know for sure—airline pricing is a moving target. 🔄✈️ Prices can fluctuate, making it challenging to pin down exact costs. However, to shed some light on the ticket pricing spectrum, here’s a snapshot of what you might expect for a non-stop roundtrip flight from New York City to London in September.

First, it’s important to remember that each airline has its policies, and extras like checked luggage and seat assignments might add up to your total fare. Here's a basic breakdown:

Main Economy - Look to spend around $750 per person. This is your standard fare that'll get you from A to B comfortably without the frills. If you're on a budget, this is the way to go! 💺🎒

Premium Economy - A step up at approximately $1600 per person. This option provides a little extra legroom, enhanced service, and often a few additional comforts to make the journey more enjoyable. Think of it as a happy medium between economy and luxury. ✨🛋️

*Business/First Class - For those seeking ultimate luxury, expect to invest around $3200 per person. With this fare, you’re indulged with plush seating, gourmet meals, and top-tier service, making even a short transatlantic flight feel like a mini-vacation. 🍽️🌟

  1. *To stretch your travel budget for Business/Firs Class seating, use a good Travel Advisor with access to "Bulk, Wholesale or Non-published" airfares for up to 25% savings and more flexibility.

window seats are best for sleeping

✈️ Seat Preferences:

  • Economy & Premium Economy: If you’re aiming for maximum legroom without breaking the bank, opt for exit row or bulkhead seats. For those who enjoy a mid-flight snooze, window seats are your sanctuary. Avoid the back of the plane and the seats right in front of the exit row, as they typically don’t recline. 🪑🛌

  • Business Class: Direct access has its virtues. Choose an aisle seat for easy movement and convenience, ensuring your journey is smooth and flexible. 📚🛋️

  • First Class: Whether it’s a window or an aisle, suites in First Class offer unmatched private luxury. It’s an oasis of tranquility at 35,000 feet. 💎💼

💡 Traveler Tips:

  • Plan & Check in Early: Max your seating options by checking in early. Wide-body flights with flexible seating can make a long-haul trip much more enjoyable. Note that while Premium Economy and above often come with complimentary seat selections on U.S. carriers, international airlines might charge—so calculate those costs ahead! 🇺🇸📝

  • Use Seat Maps: Before finalizing your ticket, scrutinize those seat maps to ensure your preferences for comfort and space are met. 🗺️📱

  • Book Direct Flights: When possible, go for direct flights to dodge the stress of missing connections. If there’s a delay, at least you’ll reach your final destination faster! 🛬🌐

  • Enroll in Loyalty Programs: Perks like upgrades in seating, boarding, and even check-in exchange for your loyalty. Don’t miss out on these rewards! 🎟️✈️

  • Use Airline Apps: Tap into real-time updates on flight status and seat assignment changes right from your smartphone. Airline apps are your pocket travel agent! 📲🚀

Understanding these elements allows you to tailor your travel experience, ensuring each journey is both convenient and comfortable.

Happy Travels!
